Palette

Palettes are used for paint mixing and storing paint. The surfaces are made in various shapes and sizes. It holds the selection of colors an artist chooses to work with. Watercolor palettes are made of plastic, metal, glass, ceramic, or enameled trays. Oil painting palettes usually are made of glass, palette paper, Formica. Acrylic painting palettes are made of glass, metal, Styrofoam, and palette paper.

Artist's Palettes

The traditional artist's palette, used with oils and viscous or heavy-bodied acrylics, is a flattened orb with an easy-to-clean surface. Rectangular shapes are also popular.

Watercolor Palette

Also useful for acrylics and other water based media, The watercolor palette is typically a rectangular or round dish with wells or indentations for mixing paint.

Covered Palette

A covered palette keeps paint moist and workable between sessions.

Disposable Palettes

Disposable palette eliminates clean-up. Oils, acrylics, or alkyds are easy to mix on it surface. Then just trow it away.

Palette Cups

Palette cups are for holding turpentine, linseed oil, or other mediums.
