Acid free can refer to paper, cardboard, tissue, foam board, tape, and many other products that are manufactured without acid (pH). Paper with a high acidity degrade quickly. Acid free paper maintains a neutral level of pH. When referring to acid free papers some examples are alkaline paper, archival paper, neutral pH paper, permanent paper and thesis paper.
