Hana Hana Cultural Center and Museum The Hana Cultural Center & Museum, developed by local residents to tell the story of this unique Hawaiian community, is home to a traditional Hawaiian village, a historic courthouse that is still in use, an old jailhouse and a museum. |
Hilo Hilo Art Museum Being the first, and only, general art museum on the Big Island of Hawai'i carries with it a world of promise and responsibility that we hope will be an inspiration for generations to come. We accept this responsibility and welcome the challenge. |
Honolulu Contemporary Museum The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu, is the only museum in the state of Hawaii devoted exclusively to contemporary art. TCM provides an accessible forum for provocative, dynamic forms of visual art, offering interaction with art and artists in a unique Island environment. TCM presents its innovative exhibition and educational programs at two venues: in residential Honolulu at the historic Cooke-Spalding house, and downtown at First Hawaiian Center. Honolulu Academy of Arts The Honolulu Academy of Arts is Hawaii's premier art museum, with a collection of more than 50,000 works. An encyclopedic museum where original works of art can be experienced in state-of-the-art galleries, it has major strengths in the arts of Asia, European and American painting, and graphic and decorative arts. With education as its mission, the Academy also administers the Academy Art Center at Linekona, the largest private art school in the Islands. Ramsay Museum In the year 2000, the Hawaii Visitors Bureau presented a special award to Ramsay "for her body of distinguished work and commitment to the preservation of the Hawaiian culture which has allowed people throughout the world to appreciate Hawaii's history." As a Charter Member of Historic Hawaii Foundation and to commemorate 30 years in business, Ramsay launched an Art Loft demonstration project at the Ramsay Museum to encourage adaptive reuse in the historic heart of Honolulu. |
